Copper is the new brass.
So, I’ve been into this weaving thang lately. Because of it, I’ve hoarded yarn like a New Zealand ewe in the dead of winter. My hoarding tendencies have forced me to come up with storage options that are a) pretty to look at and b) fun to make. And that’s what this DIY is all about.
I admit that I’m a hoarder, but the one thing I refuse to hoard is product packaging. There’s just too much of it, and I don’t get why retailers or food companies still indulge in over-packaging. So for today’s DIY, I transformed a cracker box into something pretty. I also made a commitment to not purchase anything new for this project, because it feels good to be good to Mother Nature.
Obviously, I’m on a wall hanging ride. Somehow, euphoria kicks in when you’re making these things and then the ideas just keep coming out like explosive…never mind. You get the concept.
I’m constantly thinking of new colors to paint our walls. Over the years, I’ve collected a ton of paint sample cards. And over the years, I’ve kept a lot of them simply because they’re too pretty to toss out. Thank goodness for that!
I’m in the midst of something big. But it’s taking a loooong time, so I thought I’d make something while I’m making something.
It’s Sun-DIY, folks. Time to bust out the staple gun. For this project, I’m combining my affection for all things Mid-Century modern and my Linsanity for Southwestern, folksy, tribal textiles.
